How PicksHive Chooses and Compares Products

PicksHive is a research-based buying guide. We shortlist products sold on Amazon, compare their published specifications and features against what matters for a specific use, and explain the trade-offs in our own words. We do not currently run hands-on lab testing, and we never invent ratings, reviews or test results.
1. Start from a real buying question
Every page answers one specific question — for example "which robot vacuum suits pet hair?" or "is product A or product B better for a small kitchen?". If an existing page already answers that question, we improve it instead of publishing a near-duplicate.
2. Shortlist products
We only feature products with a specific Amazon product page (an ASIN). Products that are unavailable, lack clear specifications, or duplicate a better option in the same price band are dropped from the shortlist.
3. Compare specifications, not marketing
We read manufacturer specifications and product details and translate them into practical meaning: capacity, size, power, compatibility, maintenance and what each feature changes in daily use. Comparison tables only contain attributes we can support from product information.
4. Pros, cons and who it's for
Pros and cons are based on documented product characteristics. Each pick states who it suits, where it compromises, and when a cheaper or different alternative is the better choice.
5. Prices and availability
Prices and availability come live from Amazon and are shown with an "as of" time. They can change at any moment; the price on Amazon at checkout is the one that applies. We do not show stored prices or star ratings.
6. Keeping pages current
Pages carry a last-updated date. Pages whose products go unavailable, or whose content no longer meets our quality checks, are updated, merged into a stronger page, or removed from search indexing. See our editorial and corrections policy for how to report an error.
